A former Severn Trent Water pump house on Stanton Road, Shifnal is being reimagined as a modest, low-profile family home. Set beside Waterworks Cottages and within the Green Belt, the project carefully redevelops a previously developed utility site rather than expanding into the wider countryside. The design replaces the redundant pump house with a refined 1.5-storey dwelling, retaining the existing basement and drawing on the character of the neighbouring cottages through render, slate roof tiles, oak-toned windows and crafted eaves. The result is a sensitive rural-edge home that gives new purpose to an overlooked infrastructure site. The project is currently submitted for planning following a successful Pre-Application submission.
